Lettering in punch needle

One of my favorite styles for creating punch needle art is by using fonts. However, when displaying the finished product, which side of the fonts should be presented? Personally, I prefer to showcase the punching side as I believe it brings out the font-weight more effectively. Traditionally, crafters tend to treat the backing side as the presentation side, but in my experience, the yarns are often too tight on the backing side which can cause the font work to appear squeezed and difficult to read.

The yarns I used on this project are 3 ply, and only on the word 'EXCELLENT' did I use tufting (blue color).

If you have had success punching fonts and presenting them on the backing side, please leave a comment. I would love to learn from your experience!
